I’m Not Sure Yet, But I’m Willing…

You do not have to feel shame because you are not sure yet.

This is a meaningful decision, and it is wise to take a moment before giving language to something that could shape the direction of your life. You do not have to rush, perform certainty, or pretend you are further along than you are.

This prayer is not about pressure, perfection, or pretending everything is okay. It is not a magic fix that makes every question disappear or every hard thing go away. It is simply an honest response to Jesus — a way to come with your questions, your hesitation, your curiosity, and the part of you that is still willing.

Read it slowly. Pray it out loud if you can. Let every word become your own.

Jesus,

I come to You honestly. I do not want to rush this moment or pretend to have certainty I do not have. I know this matters, and I want to take it seriously. I do not know how to name everything I am feeling. I do not know if I have all the right words, all the right answers, or even all the right belief. But something in me is willing, so I bring You that.

I bring You my questions, my hesitation, and the places in me that are tired, guarded, curious, afraid, and still searching. If You are Truth, meet me in truth. If You are near, help me recognize Your nearness. If You are calling me, help me hear You beyond fear, pressure, confusion, disappointment, and everything I have used to protect myself.

I am not asking You to ignore my questions. I am asking You to meet me in them. I am not pretending to have certainty. I am offering You my willingness. Jesus, show me what I need to know in this moment. Open my heart to recognize what is true. Help me notice where You are leading, how You are speaking, and what You are gently inviting me into.

If there is more, help me see it. If You are the more I have been aching for, help me know You. I do not have to understand everything to begin, so I begin here — with honesty, with willingness, and with You.

Amen.

Take a Moment

Before you move on, take a moment to sit with this. You do not have to rush away from what you just prayed. Pay attention to what feels tender, what feels honest, or what feels newly open. Jesus meets you here — not because you performed this moment well, but because He is faithful.

And remember: this moment may not end on this page. The way He answers, reveals, confirms, or leads may continue to unfold after this. It may come through Scripture, through quiet conviction, through peace, through a conversation, through something that keeps coming back to your attention, or through the gentle awareness that something in you has shifted.

So do not just leave this page looking for a feeling. Leave open. Stay aware. Stay honest. Stay willing. Let Him keep showing you what you need to know.
